Location: Iskandar Puteri, Johor
Requirements
Possess Diploma in Nursing
Have post basic in any field/ related field (nursery / neonatal)
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
Having experience in neonatal for a minimum of 1-2 years is an added advantage
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Description
Provides professional nursing management of neonate and supervision to the parent(s) during the admission in nursery.
Adhere to the safety of the neonate during the stay. At no time the neonate be left unattended in the nursery.
Shall be responsible to ensure the right neonate is always handed to the right mother/parent; responsible to follow up when the neonate is given to room in with the mother.
Carry out vital signs, other monitoring, nursing care activities and on-going assessment of the neonate’s condition.
Identify and provide immediate attention to neonate upon critical change of condition and notify the doctor.
Administer medication/immunization as prescribed by the doctor.
Perform clinical procedures such as baby bath; top and tail; care of umbilical cord; assist & promote breastfeeding; cup feeding; capillary blood taking; oral nasal suction; insertion oro-gastric tube; oro-gastric tube feeding; stomach washout; administration of oxygen therapy; care of phototherapy etc. assist physicians in clinical procedures where required.
Responsible to ensure the right neonate is handed to parent upon discharge, establish the identity of the parent with two identifications.
Identify and conduct neonate health education to parent(s), explain about discharge planning and information of health booklet and immunization schedule and birth registration.
Communicate with parents/guardians the plan of care and scope of treatment.
Transfer and transport patient safely to other services or wards when required.
To teach, counsel and supervise mothers in breastfeeding.
Usually act as a bridge between the specialist and the parent when working with the new-born.
To ensure cleanliness of and around the new-born by performing tasks such as changing the diapers etc.
Compensation and Benefits
Basic salary starts from RM2,100 and above
Allowances provided are (Certificate Allowance, Critical Allowance, Post Basic Allowance)
Performance Bonuses are provided
Overtime Payment is provided accordingly
Accommodation is provided (next to the hospital) @ RM150 per month.
