Job summary

Commerz Global Service Solutions in Malaysia invites applications for a Guarantees Junior Specialist to join our Trade Finance Service Centre. You will support the end-to-end processing of international guarantees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness within credit policy.

You will collaborate with internal teams and banks, maintain documentation, and contribute to process improvements while meeting SLA and KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business/Finance.
• Familiar with URDG 758 and ISP 98 rules.
• 0–2 years experience in Trade Finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Guarantees requests accurately and promptly.
• Handle end-to-end processing of international guarantees, including issuing, amending, canceling, and payments.
• Ensure compliance with credit policy, risk controls, and SLA.

Job description

• Responsible in processing Guarantees transactions in the most effective and efficient manner resulting in the highest level of customer service quality guided by the operating procedures, guidelines, policies and standard sets.
• Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are observed, and efforts are aligned to meet the required expectation – deliver high quality services to our business partners, adherence to SLA and TAT, while maintaining process efficiency, accuracy standards, self-productivity levels, quality & control measures.
• Basic knowledge of handling end to end processing of International Guarantees/SBLC including issuing of guarantees/SBLC, amendment, cancellation, demands and payments within the limit as per the credit policy.
• Familiar of governingrules such as URDG 758, ISP 98 rules & applications and any other related policies that may come into effectfrom time to time, industrystandard, internal bank policies, local and international landscape.
• Initiate/Assist and support in continuous, harmonization and improvement of process.
• Supports Team Head Guarantees/ Head of TradeFinance / SeniorManagement in all initiatives for the betterment of the organization.

Key Activities :

• In your role as Guarantees Junior Specialist, you will be a part of Operational Team in the area of Trade Finance Service Centre functions specific to Guarantees.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely execution of Guarantees related requests.
• Handling end to end processing of International Guarantees including issuingof guarantees, amendment, cancellation, demands and payments within the limit as per the credit policy.
• Manage the issuing of International Guarantees, direct/indirect with due regard to legal, compliance and risk aspects including full wording review, addressing all ambiguities and contradictions.
• Perform controls to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory regulations / risk.
• Ensure SLA (Service Level Agreement) is met and individual productivity is as per/above expectation/requirement.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy.
• Close collaboration with internal/external international banks and corporate entities in respect to Guarantee business.

• Achieves the processing turnaround standards as stipulated in the ServiceLevel Agreement between the company and clients.
• Meeting and/or exceedingthe productivity standardsand competency in terms of processing efficiency and accuracy of output.
• Support the implementations and initiatives carried out by theManagement and Company/Group
• Contributing ideas for improvement on processes, workflow etc. to the Management

Formal Education :

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management/ Economics/Finance/Accountancy/Banking/Mathematics or equivalent.

Junior Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):

• Familiarity with national and international transaction management and Guarantees business.
• Familiarity with country specific requirements governing Trade Finance.
• Business principles, operating guidelines, relevant rules, particularly of the current URDG 758,

ISP 98 and others.

• Proficient use of MS Office Suite.
• Good command of English and possibly of another foreignlanguage (Mandarin, German, Japanese, French, Spanish etc.)
• Familiar with Compliance, Sanction and Regulatory policies applicable to Banking industry, specifically Trade Finance.
• Knowledge of Trade Finance applications – CODOKA / PHOENIX would be beneficial.
• Working experience in Trade Finance environment - 0 - 2 years.
