A leading architecture firm in Johor Bahru seeks an Architect to manage projects, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with clients. The role requires a Bachelor's/Master's in architecture, proficiency in design software, and the capability to handle all project phases from planning to completion. Candidates with Mandarin proficiency are preferred, and fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
To work with and report directly to the Executive Architect / Project Director on all matters pertaining to the assigned projects and issues.
Provide technical guidance and pre-plan weekly / monthly project schedules to the Intermediate / Junior team members and monitor the junior team to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Prepare and present project, schedule, and design proposals in compliance with all legal requirements and design practicality—independent approval and reliable level.
Participate in project meetings, meet with clients to determine their needs and requirements, and align with the company's design vision and mission.
Attend regular meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and specialists, conduct site visits to check progress, and record and prepare meeting minutes and agendas.
Able to prepare a full set of comprehensive tender and construction drawings with solid specification knowledge, requiring minimal supervision and checking.
Manage project teams and collaborate with other construction professionals.
Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stay informed about industry innovations.
Conduct tenders, negotiations, awards, and administer building contracts.
Manage projects from concept development through to completion (CCC Stage).
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's / Master's Degree in architecture with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Be aware of the principles of the Architect's responsibilities under the Architect Act and Code of Conduct.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp/Layout, MS Office, Photoshop, and/or other rendering software.
In-depth knowledge of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.
Solid understanding of construction/tender working drawings, building technology, and building plan submission drawings.
Respond to builder and client queries during, before, and after construction, ensuring compliance with PAM contract conditions to safeguard the client and company.
Regularly update project status (weekly or daily) to seniors before deadlines or task completion.
Proficiency in Mandarin is required for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients.
