A food safety management company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a qualified professional to improve factory hygiene through the development of SOPs and staff training. The position requires a solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, and FSSC22000 standards. Responsibilities include overseeing chemical management, coordinating audits, and managing pest control programs. Excellent communication skills and a degree in Food Science or related fields are essential. This role is pivotal in fostering a strong food safety culture and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for relevant operations.
Ensure SOPs are aligned with organizational policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Train relevant personnel on SOP implementation and compliance.
Work with relevant department review and establish the SSOPs and cleaning checklist.
Monitor and verify plant cleaning and sanitation activities in accordance with the approved SSOPs.
Monitor pre- and post-cleaning activities for high-risk equipment and areas.
Validate cleaning effectiveness through swab tests or visual inspections.
Monitor daily personal hygiene compliance and conduct routine inspections.
Provide hygiene-related coaching and training to new and existing staff.
Prepare label & signage to raise awareness among staffs Validate usage of cleaning and disinfecting chemicals in accordance with supplier specifications.
Monitor and verify correct dilution, contact time, and chemical handling.
Ensure updated chemical inventories, SDS, and chemical risk assessments are in place.
Train relevant staff on chemical safety, handling procedures, and emergency response.
Monitor daily personal hygiene compliance and conduct routine inspections.
Provide hygiene-related coaching and training to new and existing staff.
Prepare label & signage to raise awareness among staffs.
Develop and maintain schedules for internal GMP audits and Gemba walks.
Coordinate with department PICs to ensure timely execution and documentation.
Monitor the completion of audits, track non-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings and site observations.
Liaise with external pest control service providers for routine servicing and follow-up actions.
Conduct in-house inspections for signs of pest activity and review effectiveness of control measures.
Ensure pest control devices are correctly placed, maintained and documented.
Analyze pest trend report and support implementation of preventive actions.
Develop, implement and maintain environmental monitoring plans (air, surface, water, etc).
Conduct routine sampling and ensure laboratory testing is completed as scheduled.
Analyze and trend EMP results to identify areas for improvement.
Lead investigations and corrective actions for environmental contamination events.
Monitor raw material handling and storage for allergen segregation.
Verify allergen changeover and cleaning procedures between production runs.
Conduct training for staff on allergen awareness and handling.
Assist in allergen validation and risk assessments during product or process changes.
Lead the food safety & quality culture program and serve as a role model, demonstrating good hygiene behavior and food safety accountability.
Develop and implement a company-wide food safety & quality culture strategy.
Work with operation teams to embed food safety & quality into daily operations.
Monitor and improve food safety & quality culture continuously.
Ensure all sanitation and hygiene control activities adhere to relevant quality and safety standards (e.g., FSSC22000, HACCP, GMP, HALAL).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for audits, hygiene inspections, EMP, pest control, sanitation, and training.
Prepare monthly hygiene performance reports and summaries for management review.
Organize and conduct refresher training for hygiene, GMP, allergen handling, chemical safety, and sanitation.
Participate in the development and review of hygiene-related training content and materials.
Perform other related duties as required by the Management.
Degree in Food Science/Technology/Engineering or related discipline.
Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000 and relevant industry standards.
Lead Assessor for food safety management systems
Familiar with allergen control, sanitation, chemical, environmental monitoring practices and related standards.
Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills.
Detail-oriented with sound documentation and organizational abilities.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability; excellent problem-solving & decision-making skills.
Proactive, responsible and committed to continuous improvement.
Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure and perform multi tasks.
Good command in English, Bahasa Malaysia.
