The role

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) to manage software procurement, vendor negotiations, and license compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective software acquisitions, optimize license usage, and mitigate compliance risks.

Responsibilities

1. Manage end-to-end software procurement, including vendor selection, onboarding, and negotiations.
2. Collaborate with software publishers, resellers, and internal stakeholders to procure licenses at the best price and terms.
3. Handle quote management, purchase requisitions, and approvals for software acquisitions.
4. Evaluate software vendors based on pricing, contract terms, and service quality.
5. Work closely with the SAM team to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize software usage.
6. Assist in license rationalization to avoid underutilization and over-purchasing.
7. Monitor renewals, subscriptions, and license expirations to prevent disruptions in operations.
8. Negotiate volume discounts, flexible contracts, and cost-saving opportunities.
9. Maintain audit-ready documentation for software purchases and usage.
10. Ensure compliance with EULA (End-User License Agreements) and regulatory requirements.
11. Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and Business teams for software budgeting and procurement decisions.
12. Develop procurement reports, cost analysis, and vendor performance assessments.
13. Support in internal and external audits related to software procurement.

What we need to see from you

1. Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in software procurement, vendor management, or SAM.
2. Knowledge of software licensing models (Perpetual, Subscription, SaaS, Cloud, etc.).
3. Familiarity with any IT procurement tools, SAM tools (e.g., SNOW, Flexera, ServiceNow).
4. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
5. Analytical mindset with expertise in cost optimization and risk mitigation.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
7. Ability to work with cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, Legal, Business Units).
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement platforms.

Preferred Certifications (Optional, but a plus):

1. CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager)
2. ITIL Foundation
3. CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)
