Job description

We are looking for tech-savvy and detail-oriented individuals who are interested in geoscience to join our GeoTech team.

The successful candidate would be handling geoscience data, including loading, quality control, and formatting. They will also get to work closely with our Geoscience team to support data management and loading.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage geoscience data (ASCII, SEGY, SEGD, LAS, DLIS and reports) including loading, organising, quality control, editing, formatting, managing access rights and data archive.
  • Applies and respects company policies, procedures, standards and rules (naming conventions, organisation, workflows and confidentiality) to ensure data flow quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Track and manage data supplied to and from clients, ensuring data is transmitted/received in appropriate formats.
  • Report any unresolved issues that may arise during a production run, including quality related issues to the team leader.
  • Work closely with the Geoscience Team to ensure that data is properly loaded.
  • Flexible to work and support UK, US & Malaysia time zone.
  • Performing other related tasks as requested by the team leader.
  • Undertake special assignments, ad-hoc projects and related duties as and when required.
  • Complying with the Company’s HSE regulations and policies.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Geographic Information Systems graduates will be considered. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • High level of computer proficiency.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Organised, attention to detail and able to produce accurate work.
  • Motivated to complete assigned responsibilities within set deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professionals from a variety of technical backgrounds.
  • Malaysian citizenship or permanent residence.
The following experience is desirable, but not mandatory:
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Linux, Unix, programming languages/software, and geoscience software/applications.
  • Knowledge of data management practices and standards specific to well and seismic data.
  • Oil and gas industry experience.
