Job summary

Starway International Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Junior Embedded Hardware Engineer to contribute to bench setup for smart agriculture equipment, RS485/Modbus sensor integration, and low-voltage motor driver debugging.

You will develop lightweight Python scripts, test data ingestion, and document results with traceable logs, while adhering to safety and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Computer Engineering or related field (Final-year undergraduates or Master's interns are welcome).
• 0–2 years of experience or fresh graduates.
• Hands-on hardware bench experience with soldering and testing.
• Experience with ESP32/STM32/Arduino MCUs and RS485/Modbus RTU.
• Basic Python programming for serial data handling and HTTP/MQTT requests.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or CAD for basic mounting sketches.

Responsibilities

• Set up hardware bench and perform circuit debugging with E-Stop safety.
• Integrate RS485/Modbus RTU sensors and verify protocol compliance.
• Develop Python/C++ scripts for serial polling and data logging.
• Test low-voltage motor drivers and record RPM, current, temp data.
• Calibrate and test motor alignment using simulation models.
• Create comprehensive test cases and traceable test logs.
• Ensure electrical safety and maintain data/IP confidentiality.
• Conduct on-site field testing and data collection.
