Job Title: Junior DevOps Engineer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: Contract

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Junior DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team on a contract basis in Kuala Lumpur. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, managing DevOps toolsets, and automating infrastructure processes across Unix, Linux, and NT environments.

You will be responsible for setup, configuration, and maintenance of tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, and scripting in Groovy, Shell, PowerShell, and SQL. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, configure, and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, SonarQube, Veracode).
Write and maintain automation scripts using Groovy, Unix/Linux shell scripting, PowerShell, and SQL.
Troubleshoot DevOps toolchain issues and participate in root cause analysis for incidents.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and operations to improve build, release, and deployment automation.
Monitor and enhance system reliability, performance, and security in multi-OS environments (Unix, Linux, NT).
Assist in process improvement and DevOps best practices documentation.
Participate in planning and implementing infrastructure changes and upgrades.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major DevOps tool (priority: Jenkins, plus Bitbucket, Artifactory, SonarQube, Veracode).

Good knowledge of scripting languages:

Groovy
Shell scripting (Unix/Linux)PowerShell
SQL

Proficiency in working across Unix, Linux, and Windows NT operating systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process design capabilities.
Effective communication skills, particularly when interacting with technical stakeholders.
