The Junior Cybersecurity Technical Support Analyst will serve as a key technical resource in the execution of foundational and operational cybersecurity functions across the Group. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Group’s security infrastructure, including incident detection, endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, and security event analysis.
This role requires fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles, basic proficiency with security tools, and the ability to leverage artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled platforms to enhance security operations. The candidate will collaborate closely with other cybersecurity technical and support staff, IT administrators, and business units across multiple organizations to ensure a consistent and resilient information security posture throughout the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations and Incident Handling
• Monitor enterprise-wide security systems, including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and cloud security tools, to detect and respond to anomalies, intrusions, and potential threats.
• Conduct initial triage and classification of security events; escalate confirmed incidents to senior analysts in accordance with incident response playbooks.
• Support initial forensic acquisition and incident containment efforts, ensuring accurate documentation of timelines, evidence, and actions taken.
Technical Support and Endpoint Security Administration
• Provide cybersecurity-related technical support to users across all companies under the Group.
• Assist in endpoint protection operations including deployment, troubleshooting, and updating of antivirus, EDR agents, and host-based firewalls.
• Maintain asset visibility and endpoint compliance through centralized tools and dashboards.
AI Tools and Automation Support
• Utilize AI-assisted cybersecurity platforms for alert prioritization, anomaly detection, and threat intelligence correlation.
• Support integration of AI-driven automation scripts and playbooks in daily operations using SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools.
• Participate in the evaluation of emerging AI tools for cybersecurity enhancement, under the direction of senior staff.
Vulnerability Management and Remediation Support
• Conduct scheduled vulnerability scans across infrastructure components; maintain vulnerability logs and remediation status reports.
• Coordinate with system owners to validate and verify remediation of critical vulnerabilities within defined timeframes.
• Ensure patch compliance tracking and assist in root cause analysis for recurring vulnerabilities.
Identity and Access Control Verification
• Assist in the review and enforcement of user access rights, group memberships, and privileged account activities.
• Support onboarding and offboarding procedures by validating account lifecycle management processes across business units.
• Monitor policy adherence related to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), password hygiene, and session controls.
Governance and Compliance Monitoring
• Support internal policy implementation and technical compliance audits aligned with internal cybersecurity frameworks and external standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, NACSA, Securities Commission Guidelines, Bank Negara RMIT).
• Contribute to risk assessments, evidence collection, and the maintenance of audit-ready documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Participate in cybersecurity awareness initiatives and technical training across the Group entities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)
• CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, Cisco CyberOps Associate, or other relevant entry-level cybersecurity certifications.
Required Technical Competencies
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure network architectures, and endpoint security practices.
Basic proficiency with:
o Security tools: EDR, SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability scanners
o Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, DHCP, firewall rules
• Exposure to scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Familiarity with AI-enabled security platforms, automated threat detection, and SOAR capabilities is an advantage.
