Job description

We’re working with one of Malaysia renowned motor spare parts distributor which based in Penang, and they are currently looking for a Business Analyst Apprentice.

Job Summary:

This role is ideal for someone passionate about turning data into actionable insights and eager to learn how to collaborate across teams to improve business performance across various departments such as Admin, Store, HR, and E-Commerce.

  1. Data Collection & Reporting: Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from various departments
  2. Dashboard & KPI Support: Support the creation of dashboards and regular performance reports to track KPIs
  3. Project Management: Collaborate on cross-functional projects involving multiple departments and contribute innovative ideas to improve business processes
  4. Performance Analysis: Learn to analyze data and generate reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  5. Market Research: Conduct market and competitor analysis to support strategic planning
  6. Stakeholder Support: Work with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements and document operational workflows
  7. Insights Contribution: Participate in business meetings and contribute to discussions with data-driven insights
  8. Tool Proficiency: Learn and apply basic data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  9. Ad-hoc Tasks: Support ad-hoc reporting and analytical tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Excel; knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a data-driven business environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to work well in a team and under guidance
