A growing Fintech company in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Junior Backend Engineer skilled in NodeJs and/or Golang. The role involves designing and deploying scalable software solutions, enhancing existing functionalities, and contributing to documentation. Ideal candidates have 1 to 3 years of experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for software engineering. The position offers a hybrid work model with a modern tech stack.

Qualifications

• Experience with NodeJs and/or Golang is a must.
• Fresh graduates should present their GPA or internship experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Projects

• Core FX verification product is scaling quickly; Enhancements / changes and new features. There is an existing development road map in place.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy scalable and maintainable software solutions
• Fix bugs and enhance existing solutions based on user feedback
• Write automated tests to be integrated with CICD pipelines
• Contribute in creating and updating documentation

Team & Culture

• Reporting to the CTO who was the pioneer engineer, while working alongside a team of backend / full stack / QA and DevOps Engineers - most of them come from (very) reputable tech companies
• The tech stack and methodologies are modern and follow global best practice - goal is to design and develop solutions to be scalable
• Would suit someone who has worked in a start up /scale up before and has a can-do and continuous improvement mindset
• As you develop independence and proactiveness, you will also have the opportunity to learn under the guidance of experienced senior engineers

Must Have

• NodeJs and/or Golang
• We also welcome those skilled in Java / .NET / Ruby to apply, as long as you have picked up good BE fundamentals
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Experience working in the fintech space
• Side projects to showcase your passion in software engineering

Level / Grade

• 1 to 3 years of experience in software engineering
