Star Media Group is seeking a Journalist (Social Media Coordinator) to drive content across Malaysia’s social platforms. You will craft captions, upload multimedia content, and collaborate with Editorial/Marketing to ensure timely campaigns and updates.

You’ll engage readers, manage branded content, and run promotions to grow our community. The role requires 2–3 years in journalism and social media, proficiency with FB Creator Studio, HootSuite, Google Workspace, Canva, and Facebook Ad Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Content Creation: Craft snappy captions and upload multimedia-rich content (articles, infographics, videos, and polls) that drive engagement.
• Campaign Collaboration: Partner with our Editorial and Marketing teams to ensure our campaigns and news updates are shared perfectly and on time.
• Community Management: Engage with our readers, manage branded content requests, and run exciting promotions to grow our community.
• Analytics & Reporting: Track reach and growth using tools like FB Creator Studio and HootSuite to see the impact of your work.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Experience: 2 - 3 years in journalism and social media management.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in FB Creator Studio/HootSuite and a solid handle on Google Workspace.
• Design & Edit: A creative eye with experience in Canva, graphic design, and video/image editing software.
• Ad Strategy: Familiarity with Facebook Ad Manager is a major plus.
