The Role

Position: Java Software Engineer

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Location: City Square, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve IT applications by implementing enhancements, troubleshooting live issues to identify root causes, and providing effective solutions to resolve problems.
• Migrate existing applications to a cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security requirements.
• Undertake tasks such as design, programming, integration, system testing, user support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and thorough documentation.
• Develop unit tests and end-to-end test scripts leveraging Azure technologies.
• Diagnose, resolve, and prevent recurring issues by creating automated test cases.
• Oversee the deployment of all enhancements and fixes to testing and live environments within agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with end users, server administrators, database administrators, and system analysts supporting IT systems.

Ideal Profile

Candidate Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Infocomm Technology, Computer or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with proficiency in:
• JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX/JSON, ReactJS.
• J2EE (Weblogic, Tomcat), Struts, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, or Spring Boot.
• Restful APIs.
• MS SQL, Oracle, or PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Linux OS, Spring MVC, Hibernate.
• Development experience using Azure App Services, Spring Cloud, Tomcat, and MS SQL, alongside Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with agile development and DevOps practices.
• Good working knowledge of version control systems like Git (minimum 3 years).
• GIS map development expertise.
• All nationalities welcome, but must be in Malaysia with 2 years of local experience.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment across Singapore, Malaysia, and India.
• Capable of working independently, with minimal supervision, while meeting deadlines.
• Initiative-driven with a proactive approach to tasks.
