Job summary

Streamline Media Group is seeking a Japanese interpreter to bridge Streamline with the Japan market. You will use professional English and Japanese to translate workflows and support product localization for games and services reaching Japanese audiences.

Responsibilities include interpreting weekly meetings, translating in-game content, integrating translations into the product, and contributing to marketing localization efforts and internal document translation.

Qualifications

• JLPT N1 or Native Japanese level required.
• Business or above level in English (TOEIC 800+ preferred).
• 3+ years of working experience as EN→JA interpreter in any industry.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting (EN → JA) weekly online meetings with Japanese clients.
• Translate, proofread and edit in-game content from English to Japanese.
• Implement translations into game and perform LQA including bug reports and language errors.
• Localization of marketing contents (e.g., videos, social media).
• Translate other documents related to internal projects.

Description

Japanese interpreter is a language specialist that will assist in translating workflows orally specific to our clients in Japan. You will act as a bridge that connects Streamline with the Japan market. Using your professional English and Japanese languages abilities, you will be responsible for providing support to make Streamline’s products (services and games) appealing to the Japanese market.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpreting (EN > JA) weekly online meetings with Japanese clients.
• Conduct translation, proofreading, editing of in-game contents from English to Japanese
• Implement the translated text into game & perform LQA including bug reports, language errors report and making improvement suggestions
• Marketing contents translation and localization (e.g. commercial videos, social media contents, etc.)
• Other document translation that related with internal projects

Qualifications

• JLPT N1 or Native Japanese level required.
• Business or above level in English (TOEIC 800+ preferred).
• 3+ years of working experience as English > Japanese interpreter in any industry.

Additional Skills (preferred)

• Work experience in game development or operation, especially LQA
• 2 + years work experience as EN>JA translator/interpreter in video game or entertainment
• In-depth knowledge in LQA related software and tools
• UI/UX localization knowledges
• Work experience with CAT tools (Trados, Memo Q, Memsource, etc.)
• Work experience in Japan or Japanese companies
• Fluency in other languages in writing and reading
