Job description

We are looking for talents who specialize in Forwarding/logistic commercial knowledge to join our International Road Freight (ITR) team.

This role will act as a business development professional to develop potential new customer business in Road Freight and build the ITR sales pipeline in Malaysia & Singapore.

Additionally, the role involves managing profitable revenue growth by maintaining and developing existing customers and ensuring a shared understanding of service expectations and solutions with both customers and the ITR Country and Regional Offices.

The key tasks and initiatives include:

  • Acquiring new customer business with solutions targeting high profit potential
  • Building, maintaining, and managing the ITR sales pipeline in Malaysia & Singapore
  • Developing key customer relationships at the country level
  • Leading top-level sales initiatives to increase share of wallet for ITR customers
  • Maximizing growth potential of existing customers
  • Creating leads and following sales opportunities within customers
  • Visiting customers directly, spending at least half of the time in front of customers
  • Responding to all ITR-related Customer RFIs, RFQs, and Tenders within the company
  • Building executive relationships within assigned accounts, responding to customer needs, inquiries, and complaints
  • Leading customer presentations and proposals, ensuring mutual understanding of service expectations and solutions
  • Creating a competitive advantage and pricing for value on behalf of DHL across all business units
  • Managing profitable revenue growth through existing customer development
  • Implementing account strategies and working closely with customers and operations teams to deliver high-quality service
  • Providing specific advice/information to country Key Account Managers for business review, planning, and decision-making
  • Maintaining good communication and relationships with all units
  • Coordinating with stakeholders and different business units to deliver quality service

To succeed in this role, the following are expected:

  • Possess a Bachelor Degree in Logistics or equivalent academic background/experience with in-depth forwarding knowledge (prefer operational experience in road freight)
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in road freight, logistics, or freight forwarding industry, especially in Malaysia & Singapore
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay; proficiency in Chinese is an advantage
  • Proficiency in software skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Outlook)
  • Attention to detail, independence, and ability to work under pressure and in a team
  • Good time management, strong initiative, high achievement motivation, analytical, and project management skills
  • Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial, flexible attitude
