A leading education company in Malaysia is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to staff and students. The role includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and collaborating with departments to enhance IT capabilities. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in IT and 1-2 years of experience in support roles, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
Provide first-level technical support to staff and students for hardware, software, and network issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to computers, printers, projectors, internet connectivity, and classroom AV equipment.
Install, configure, and maintain school devices (PCs, laptops, iPads, printers, etc.).
Support online learning platforms, email systems, and student management systems.
Ensure smooth operation of school IT infrastructure (Wi-Fi, LAN, servers, etc.).
Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and backups.
Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
Document support issues and resolutions; maintain an IT support log.
Assist in the setup of IT equipment for school events and meetings.
Collaborate with third-party IT vendors when necessary.
Assist with onboarding of new staff (email setup, system access).
Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to improve IT infrastructure.
Provide IT support, shoot photos at events, and manage social media (IG, FB, website).
Assist in setting up IT equipment for school events, examinations, and presentations.
Other ad-hoc duties when necessary
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in IT support or a related role.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and basic networking (Wi-Fi, routers, IP configuration).
Familiarity with school IT systems (e.g., Google Workspace, LMS, AV equipment) is an advantage.
Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical users.
Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.
Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently.
Willing to provide support during weekends or after hours when necessary.
