Job Summary

The incumbent will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within their specified budgets. This role involves coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  2. Budget Management: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure that project costs remain within the allocated budget.
  3. Team Coordination: Lead project teams, assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure team members are aligned with project goals.
  4. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting the required quality standards.
  7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects in banking. Experience in managing projects in a software development environment is highly desirable. Experience in core banking, loan/financing origination, credit/debit card systems, payment systems (e.g. SWIFT/RENTAS), and/or collection/recovery management systems specifically in Malaysia is preferred.
  3. Certifications: Project Management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  4. Competencies: Familiarity with PM tools: Microsoft Project, Teams for Collaboration, and SharePoint.
