IT Infrastructure Technician (Construction Industry Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Technician with hands-on experience in construction environments to support and maintain the company's IT infrastructure across office and on-site locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a working understanding of the construction industry's unique infrastructure needs, including rugged site deployments, temporary setups, and coordination with project managers and contractors.

What you'll be doing

Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, CCTV, etc.) across office and construction sites.

Ensure connectivity and uptime at remote or temporary project locations.

Provide technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues.

Collaborate with construction teams to assess and plan infrastructure needs based on project stages.

Implement and monitor security protocols on construction site IT systems.

Document configurations, site layouts, and maintenance logs.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for procurement and installation tasks.

Support system backups, patch management, and disaster recovery plans.

Maintain asset inventory and track equipment deployed to construction sites.

What we're looking for

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

2+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or technical support.

Familiarity with construction site operations or experience supporting IT in construction projects.

Proficient with networking (LAN/WAN), IP configurations, and basic server administration.

Experience with mobile connectivity solutions (e.g., 4G routers, portable access points).

Basic knowledge of CCTV setup, VoIP, and access control systems is a plus.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to travel to remote sites and work in field conditions.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

Experience with AutoCAD workstations or construction-specific software.

Understanding of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols on job sites.
