Job summary

Monks in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a System Administrator to maintain and secure our cloud and on-premise systems. You will join the SysOps IT team, automate tasks, and help shape IT policies as we expand.

The role is hybrid with occasional office visits. You will manage Google Workspace, Slack, Jamf, Intune, and Azure, support Windows and Linux servers, and contribute to ISO 27001 compliance and IT audits.

Responsibilities

• Tier 2/3 Resolution: resolve complex issues to ensure seamless operation for local teams before global admins come online.
• ISO 27001 Compliance & Audit: help prepare IT environment for audits by maintaining access controls and change records.
• Audit readiness: maintain strict access controls and change management records and participate in audit interviews.

As a System Administrator within .Monks, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and ongoing operation of computer systems and cloud platforms. Working as part of the SysOps IT team, your observations and input will help drive the evolution of tech administration within our company as we look to establish stronger policies, more security, better organization, and enhanced efficiency. As the IT, and especially AI, needs of the company continue to grow, you will have the opportunity to learn new technologies and propose projects. Automating IT tasks will be a focus.

This role is well-suited for those who are self-sufficient, dependable, looking for new challenges, and are interested in expanding their skillset.

This is a hybrid role, with infrequent, office attendance at our Kuala Lumpur office.

Responsibilities will include:

Regional SaaS & MDM Escalation

• Regional Support: Act as the primary escalation path during local office hours for tools managed by the global team (including Slack, Google Workspace, Jamf, and Intune).
• Tier 2/3 Resolution: Resolve complex technical issues that standard IT support cannot handle, ensuring seamless operation for the local team before the global admins come online.

ISO 27001 Compliance & Audit

• Audit Readiness: Help prepare the IT environment for ISO 27001 audits by maintaining strict access controls and change management records.
• Evidence Collection: Be an active participant in audit interviews, providing "point-in-time" evidence such as access logs, termination of access reports, and proof of system patching.

Background Sought

Technical Background Sought:

• Cloud-Based Business Platform Administration: Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft365/Azure and Atlassian Org Administration.

• OS: Windows server, Linux.

• Networking Hardware: Fortinet, Ubiquiti.

• Identity & Endpoint Management: OneLogin, Jamf, Intune, and A1.

• Bonus points for experience with automation or APIs.

• Familiarity with at least one scripting language.

General Requirements:
