Job description
Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Implement quality inspection, process audit, IPQC audit, and other assigned quality-related tasks to ensure product and process compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspection for both in-process units and finished goods.
  • Conduct IPQC audits to monitor and verify production process controls, ensuring compliance with defined standards and procedures.
  • Conduct process audits for production lines and other required areas.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or queries encountered during inspection to appropriate personnel.
  • Verify parts against drawing specifications and requirements before packing.
  • Assist Quality Engineer or Technical Specialist in following up on corrective actions and rework status.
  • Monitor and follow up on changes in official documentation status.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S, and general duty of care.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of inspection and audit findings.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions based on audit and inspection results.
  • Any other tasks assigned by Management from time to time.
Work Environment
  • Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
  • Works in a ESD compliance Assembly Floor.
  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret quality specifications, engineering documents (e.g., OMS, work instructions).
  • Proficient in performing quality inspections and IPQC audits based on defined requirements.
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) practices and controls.
  • Skilled in electronic product assembly inspection and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with electronic product manufacturing processes, process audits, and 5S practices.
  • Basic understanding of IPC standards for electronic assemblies (e.g., IPC-A-610).
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and basic system navigation.
  • Proficient in using MS Office tools for reporting and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Ability to understand and apply audit checklists for product and process audits.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Good communication skills to clearly report issues to Line Leaders, Supervisors, Technical Specialists, and Quality Engineers.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in electronic product manufacturing quality inspection, or
  • Fresh graduates with relevant technical education and strong potential for quality inspector roles.
Education
  • Technical school certificate, Diploma in Engineering, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
