The role involves providing strategic counsel on IP matters, managing client files, and mentoring junior associates. Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join their growing IP practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities
1. Respond to client inquiries and provide strategic advice on a broad spectrum of IP matters, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and copyrights.
2. Manage a portfolio of IP files, ensuring timely and effective handling in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and best practices.
3. Draft, review and negotiate a variety of IP-related agreements, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, and other commercial arrangements.
4. Represent clients in IP disputes, including initiating and defending litigation, as well as managing settlements and alternative dispute resolution processes.
5. Assist in the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, both domestically and internationally.
6. Remain abreast of developments in IP law and industry trends, offering clients proactive and forward-thinking advice.
7. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates and support staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
8. Contribute to the firms' business development initiatives by authoring thought leadership pieces, participating in conferences, and cultivating client relationships.
Requirements
1. Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law.
2. Prior experience in intellectual property law is required.
3. Excellent command of English and Malay. Proficiency in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
4. Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
