Job description

Connect Energy partners with a consultancy firm in Malaysia to look for an Inspector of Works (IOW) for both Civil and Electrical disciplines to work on a water treatment plant in Malaysia for 12 - 18 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site supervision and coordination to ensure that contractors adhere to quality standards and project specifications.
  • Attend site meetings and technical discussions.
  • Ensure that materials used meet contract specifications.
  • Assist in site valuations by verifying contractors' work for progress claims.
  • Conduct regular checks, inspections, and quality control measures on ongoing and completed works
  • witness and verify site inspection raised by the Contractor, including testing works are in accordance with the Contract and Employer's requirements.
  • review construction method of statement (MOS), and monitor the actual work implementations are following the approved MOS
  • comply with Employer HSE Policy and Guidelines, as well as monitor the Contractor compliance for the same.
  • Identify outstanding tasks and address any issues encountered on-site, proposing mitigation solutions as necessary.
  • Report any non-conforming matters found during inspections to the Resident Engineer (RE) and follow up with contractors on required actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, including relevant forms, documents, and correspondences.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years in construction of RE / battery installations
  • Diploma in Civil or Electrical
  • 2 openings for Civil and 2 openings for Electrical
