Job summary

Courtsite is seeking an IoT Deployment & Operations Engineer (Electrical & Networking) to own the deployment and maintenance of its IoT lighting systems across Malaysia, with an initial office onboarding period and field travel. You will coordinate electrical contractors, plan installations, and work with cross-functional teams to drive scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of electrical installations, including relays and distribution systems.
• Practical networking understanding: Ethernet cabling, routers, connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating technical installations or field projects independently.
• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and customers.
• Ability to estimate costs and manage projects through completion.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Responsibilities

IoT Deployment & Operations Engineer (Electrical & Networking)

Field-based, with an initial office onboarding period and travel across Malaysia · Contract

Own the deployment and maintenance of our IoT lighting systems, working with contractors and building scalable processes as we grow across Malaysia & beyond.

What you'll do

Plan and coordinate installations

• Visit sports facilities to assess their electrical and networking infrastructure.
• Determine installation requirements and prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of materials.
• Work with our Sales team to assess technical feasibility and prepare quotations.
• Source, evaluate, and coordinate electrical contractors across Malaysia.
• Oversee installations and ensure they're completed safely, reliably, and to our standards.

Keep our systems running

• Investigate hardware, networking, and electrical issues at existing facilities.
• Work with our Customer Experience and Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
• Coordinate repairs, replacements, and maintenance with local contractors.
• Conduct site inspections and develop preventative maintenance practices.
• Occasionally respond to urgent technical issues outside regular working hours.

Build better ways of working

• Develop installation guides, technical documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Standardise our installation processes so qualified contractors can deploy our systems consistently.
• Improve hardware procurement, inventory management, and installation costs.
• Help establish reliable contractor networks in new regions.
• Work with our software engineers to identify improvements that make our systems easier to deploy, monitor, and maintain.

You’ll have considerable autonomy to improve how Courtsite deploys and maintains its IoT systems.

You’ll work closely with our Customer Experience, Sales, and Engineering teams, while taking ownership of your technical domain.

As Courtsite expands into more locations, there’s an opportunity for this role to grow into something much bigger, potentially helping establish and lead a dedicated IoT operations function.

Who you are

We're interested in people who combine practical technical knowledge with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

Ideally, you have:

• Hands-on knowledge of electrical installations, including relays, contactors, and electrical distribution systems.
• A practical understanding of networking, including Ethernet cabling, routers, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience independently coordinating technical installations or field projects.
• Experience working directly with contractors, suppliers, and customers.
• The ability to assess technical requirements, estimate costs, and manage projects through completion.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with people from different technical backgrounds.
• A willingness to travel and work independently across Malaysia.

You don't necessarily need an engineering degree. Relevant technical qualifications, vocational training, and practical experience are equally welcome.

Experience with building automation, electrical systems integration, CCTV, access control, or similar technologies would be particularly relevant.
