Job description

Orchid Development is a division of the Flowers Group of companies. Orchid Development manages and provides maintenance services to the Cricket Square properties, Flowers Apartments, Middle Ground Apartments, Eucalyptus Building and Orchid Village rental properties.In addition, maintenance services are provided to The Club and Flowers Restauranteurs, with kitchens and associated food & beverage outlets.

The Inventory Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in the warehouse. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper storage conditions, and coordinating with other departments to fulfill orders efficiently.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the system.
  • Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure goods are stored properly to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Label and categorize items for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • Prepare and issue stock as per requests from various departments.
  • Keeping track of equipment distributed to various departments.
  • Coordinate with logistics for timely dispatch of goods.
  • Maintain stock records and update inventory databases.
  • Prepare and submit stock reports to management.
  • Track stock levels and notify the supervisor of low stock items.
  • Follow warehouse safety and security procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Use handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) safely

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inventory, warehouse or storekeeping roles.
  • Previous experience with inventory management systems (e.g., MaintainX or similar) and computer skills (i.e. Excel)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of stock control, warehouse organization, and inventory procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team interaction.
  • Valid Cayman Islands driver’s license; group 4 license a plus.
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand for long hours.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shift hours, including after hours and weekends when required.
