Job summary

A leading company is seeking an experienced Interpreter fluent in Japanese to facilitate communication during seminars and teleconferences. The role involves technical writing, assessment of processes, and the development of Standard Operating Procedures. Ideal candidates will possess strong technical skills and experience in similar roles with Japanese companies.

Qualifications

  • Japanese Language N2 or equivalent required.
  • Work experience with Japanese companies preferred.
  • Documentation and internal auditing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Translates and interprets spoken passages during events.
  • Assesses processes and conducts internal training sessions.
  • Prepares reports and creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Education

Degree from a recognized Japanese university

Job description

Translates spoken passages from Japanese, English, or Malay to another language during seminars, teleconferences, and meetings.

Provides either approximate or exact translation based on the occasion.

May specialize in a specific subject area as needed.

Serves as an interpreter at site briefings, meetings, teleconferences, seminars, or similar events.

Reads and rewrites technical documents in the specified language as required.

Listens and provides either approximate or exact translation, depending on the occasion.

Assists in simultaneous interpreting, providing oral translation of spoken material.

Prepares for interpreting sessions through reading and research on relevant topics.

Prepares reports and documents as needed for meetings and presentations.

Performs other tasks assigned by Heads of Department (HODs).

Assessment and System Improvement (Mudatori)

Assesses processes, takes measurements, and interprets data.

Designs, tests, and upgrades systems, processes, and devices.

Collaborates with other departments for continuous improvement.

Conducts internal training related to process improvement.

Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on Kaizen principles.

Required Skills

Fluency in relevant language – Japanese Language N2 or equivalent.

Ability to read and write in Japanese.

Strong communication skills.

Listening and technical writing skills.

Device setting and testing capabilities.

Project schedule planning.

Documentation and internal auditing experience.

Degree from a recognized Japanese university.

Work experience with Japanese companies performing similar tasks.
