Job summary

Jabil is seeking an Engineering Intern for its Technology Services team in Penang. You'll work on real projects, supporting engineering tools, systems, and digital solutions, mentored by experienced professionals.

You will develop lightweight tools in Python/C++, handle MySQL data tasks, and assist in process improvements, safety, and documentation. The role targets 4–6 months, based in Bayan Lepas.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of AI or Power BI is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Able to base in Penang Bayan Lepas and commit to 4–6 months or longer.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Services with manufacturing support, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain simple software tools or scripts using Python and/or C++.
• Support MySQL database management, data extraction, and reporting.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and visualization to aid decisions.
• Assist in equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to process improvement projects using production data.
• Support 3D printing prototyping of components or fixtures when applicable.
• Prepare technical documentation, guides, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.

We are looking for a tech-savvy and motivated Engineering Intern to join our Technology Services team. This internship is ideal for Computer Science / Software Engineering students seeking hands-on experience in supporting engineering tools, systems, and digital solutions. Interns will work on real projects, gain exposure to enterprise technologies, and receive mentorship from experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Engineering Services team in supporting manufacturing, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.

Develop and maintain simple software tools, scripts, or automation solutions using Python and/or C++ to improve engineering processes and productivity.

Support database management, data extraction, and reporting activities using MySQL.

Perform data collection, analysis, and visualization to support engineering decision-making and problem-solving.

Assist in equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for operational issues.

Participate in process improvement projects by analyzing production and equipment performance data.

Support the design, prototyping, and testing of components or fixtures using 3D printing technology where applicable.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, engineering reports, and standard operating procedures.

Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineer or any related field

Basic knowledge of AI or Power BI will be added advantage
