Job summary

Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing Penang Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an engineering student intern to support backend testing and manufacturing activities in a semiconductor environment.

You will assist in preparing engineering activities, documenting work instructions, and presenting data, while coordinating with Production, Test Engineering, Process Engineering and Quality teams. English communication and basic Excel data handling are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical & electronic engineering, electronics, mechatronics, microelectronics, semiconductor engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electronics, semiconductor devices, or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, programming, or data visualization tools will be an added advantage.
• Willing to learn and work in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day backend testing and manufacturing activities.
• Support the preparation of engineering activities, technical documentation, work instructions, and data presentations.

• Assist in monitoring product performance, test yield, and production-related issues.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize engineering and production data to identify abnormalities, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities with relevant engineering teams.
• Support engineering projects and other assignments as required by the department.

Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing Penang Sdn. Bhd. Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.
