Job summary

C.K. YONG AUTO WORLD in Ipoh is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Intern to gain hands-on experience in inspection, basic repairs, and maintenance of pre-owned cars. You will assist with inspections, basic maintenance, and learn to prepare used cars for sale, with exposure to marketing tasks like photo/video content for social media.

The role offers an internship path with potential for a full-time position, plus an allowance and commission as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Currently studying in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering / Vocational Automotive course
• Basic knowledge of car components and tools
• Basic Marketing Knowledge: Familiar with social media platforms or online marketplace listings
• Willing to learn and work in a hands-on environment
• Responsible, disciplined, and hardworking
• Able to follow instructions and work in a team

Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle inspections (check condition before sale)
• Inspect engine, brakes, battery, and basic systems
• Carry out basic maintenance (oil change, fluid checks, tightening)
• Identify and report vehicle issues
• Ensure vehicles are in good condition for customers
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop
• Support in diagnostic checking using basic tools or systems
• Marketing Support: Take high-quality photos and videos of ready-to-sell cars for social media content
• Digital Listing: Help create and update car listings on online sales platforms or company social media pages to attract buyers

Internship Automotive Mechanic (Used Car)

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Automotive Mechanic Intern to join our used car team. This internship provides practical experience in vehicle inspection, basic repairs, and maintenance of pre-owned cars.

Interns will gain real-world exposure to the automotive industry, especially in preparing used cars for sale.

• Possess own transport (preferred)
