Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and action materials supply to equal demand.
  • Participate in decision making of MPS loading through proper materials sizing.
  • Analyze, maintain, and execute Materials Requirement Plan (MRP). Continuously monitor and verify materials pipeline to ensure it meets the MRP requirements.
  • Ensure materials availability to support production per the Master Production Schedule through MRP execution, on-time delivery, and coordination of materials movement through receiving to Production.
  • Effectively manage materials requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and product End of Life (EOL).
  • Disposition non-conforming, excess, obsolete, and/or high stock materials in a timely manner.
  • Issue Purchase Orders to pricing, terms & conditions that are negotiated and agreed to by Jabil Commodity Managers and Buyers.
  • Optimize order management process to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
  • Maintain integrity of master data and purchasing planning parameters to minimize material liability and to balance the cost of procurement with inventory investment levels.
  • Monitor and continuously improve suppliers' delivery and quality performance. Address and resolve recurring or critical issues by utilizing corrective action tools and additional resources.
  • Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Provide inputs to drive and execute Jabil's commodity and pricing strategy. Work closely with Buyers, Commodity Managers, & SCM. Provide feedback on supplier performance and Jabil's strategies.
  • Minimize materials freight expenses for Jabil.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Job Summary

Procure all components necessary to support production or prototype builds. In conjunction, responsibilities include accomplishing the best possible pricing, lead time agreements, resolution of quality issues, delivery and inventory levels.

Job Description
1 Plan, schedule, and action materials supply to equal demand.

1.1 Participate in decision making of MPS (Master Production Schedule) loading through proper materials sizing.

1.2 Analyze, maintain, and execute Materials Requirement Plan (MRP). Continuously monitor and verify materials pipeline to ensure it meets the MRP requirements. Identify and appropriately address materials supply issues.

1.3 Ensure materials availability to support production per the Master Production Schedule through MRP execution, on-time delivery, and coordination of materials movement through receiving to Production.

1.4 Effectively manage materials requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and product End of Life (EOL).

1.5 Disposition non-conforming, excess, obsolete, and/or high stock materials in a timely manner.

2 Support optimize overall cost of materials.

2.1 Issue Purchase Orders to pricing, terms & conditions that are negotiated and agreed to by Jabil Commodity Managers and Buyers. Ensure suppliers' adherence to established agreements.

2.2 Optimize order management process to ensure effective communication with suppliers.

2.3 Maintain integrity of master data and purchasing planning parameters to minimize material liability and to balance the cost of procurement with inventory investment levels.

2.4 Monitor and continuously improve suppliers' delivery and quality performance. Address and resolve recurring or critical issues by utilizing corrective action tools and additional resources.

2.5 Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice discrepancies.

3 Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
CRITICAL focus areas

3.1 Understand the fundamentals and principles of MRP.

3.2 Clearly understand, execute, and provide feedback on Jabil Supply Chain Management (SCM) and pricing strategies.

3.3 All materials in stock and on order are pegged to customer-authorized purchases.

3.4 Supplier delivery, quality, and service performance meets or exceeds SCM expectations.

3.5 Purchasing planning parameters and Purchase Order (PO) data are 100% accurate.

3.6 Meet or exceed and continuously improve on related performance metrics objectives:

  • External materials downtime

  • Days of Supply, Potential Excess, Potential Obsolete Materials,

  • High Stocks, RTV

3.7 Other applicable metrics as defined by Workcell or Purchasing Manager
