Job summary

Jabil Penang is seeking an intern to support Component Data Management (CDM) activities within SCM. You will help classify components, maintain a commodity classification program, and assist with data accuracy across the CDM system.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering and have an internship of 4 months or longer. Strong communication and analytical skills are valued, with multilingual abilities a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronic, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Internship of 4 months or longer preferred.
• Willingness to learn component data management and classification.

Responsibilities

• Review CDM system to ensure classification supports SCM requirements.
• Research and fully classify all components in CDM.
• Set up and implement a commodity classification maintenance program.
• Review and reclassify components per business needs.
• Participate in information exchange within the department and other Jabil facilities.
• Escalate complex or unusual situations to the reporting manager.
• Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and non-redundant.
• Ensure 100% adherence to company policies (Health, Safety, Quality).
• Maintain discretion/confidentiality of data and proprietary information.

• Set up and implement a commodity classification maintenance program. Review and check the accuracy of component classification according to commodity classification program.
• Review and reclassify components according to business needs.
• Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department and colleagues in other Jabil facilities.
• Escalate complex, difficult, or unusual situations to the reporting manager.
• Ensure that received procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
• Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health, Safety and Quality)
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to data and proprietary information, whether internal to Jabil or customer specific.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Major/ Background

• Prefer 4 months and above internship duration (due to project commitments)
