A leading energy company seeks an Intern for Value Chain Optimisation in Kuala Lumpur. This role involves supporting end-to-end value chain performance analysis, data collection, and digital initiatives. Ideal candidates are undergraduates in Engineering or related fields with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with digital tools such as Power BI, Java, Python, or SQL is a plus. This internship offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in oil and gas industrial processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Support analysis of end-to-end value chain performance (planning, supply, logistics, operations).
• Support data collection, analysis, and performance reporting.
• Contribute to digital initiatives (dashboards, basic analytics models, automation, process improvement tools).
• Prepare MoM, insights, reports.
• Support continuous improvement and transformation projects.

Requirements

Must-Have:

• Undergraduate in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Industrial), Business, Economics, Data/Analytics, IT, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with data (Excel or similar tools).
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn.

Additional Points:

• Basic technical knowledge of Oil & Gas processes or industrial operations.
• Understanding of upstream, midstream, and downstream value chain concepts.
• Exposure to digital tools such as Power BI, Java, Python, or SQL.
• Experience from digital, analytics, or engineering-related projects, hackathons, or case competitions.
• Good visual/design sense to create clear, professional posters or presentation decks.
