Job description

An Interior Designer is responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables in both FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment) as well as construction documents. A Designer can work on all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. You will report directly to the Project Managers, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer on tasks and deliverables, and work directly with them to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion; on-time, on-budget, and meet A&A’s quality standards.

1. Understand the preliminary client brief

2. Create & prepare layout plans, sketches, 3D, 2D drawings, models and visuals

3. Prepare the construction & technical details of design drawings

4. Work with internal team and operations department to generate ideas for pitching and proposals

5. Present and propose concepts to each client according to their desired needs

6. Manage the design and creative elements of projects both independently and within project team

7. Ensure that the design and creative deliverables are aligned to client expectations and executed within budget and timescales

8. Propose suitable construction materials, color scheme, materials needed, carpet, and carpentry work

9. Prepare and issue specification by coordinating with the costing department

10. Schedule frequent site visits to ensure works are done according to plan, and control daily working site progress

11. Make sure tasks implemented meet the design standard and maintain quality assurance

12. Handle all documentation required on project requirements

13. Work closely with team to create scope of work and define projects.

14. Skillfully resolve detailing and technical issues in line with the project’s design agenda

15. Where appropriate, manage project teams, deliverables, and finances to meet profit targets & deadlines

16. Attend meetings and liaise with clients. Note down meeting minutes and understand their needs by translating them into workable concepts & designs

17. Coordinate with the sub-contractors, suppliers and other key persons while monitoring the construction schedule

18. Participate in supervisory visits at the site to ensure work is according to specifications

19. Maintain timeliness of project delivery

20. Perform other responsibilities as assigned

· You are required to be hands-on in these tasks, as well as to learn these functions from our other seniors

Job Skills & Requirements:

1. Position requires creativity & artistic talent, good organizational skills, time management, communications skills and a committed individual who is able to translate their design experience and ideas in response to the challenges of large-scale developments

2. Good in observation, designing, detail drawing and shop drawing

3. Proficient in 3D Studio Max, Adobe PhotoShop, AutoCad, Sketch Up and computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications

4. Prior experience in Design Drafting

5. Candidates must possess at least a Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in the Interior Design industry

6. Preferably Senior Executives specializing in Architecture / Interior Design or equivalent

7. A great team player, able to work independently with minimum supervision and effectively

8. A minimum of 3 years working experience is required
