JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR INTERIOR DESIGNER:

2. Space Planning: Utilize your expertise in interior design principles to create functional and aesthetically pleasing layouts for residential or commercial spaces. Maximize the use of space while ensuring optimal flow and functionality.

3. Material Selection: Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment to align with the design concept. Consider factors such as durability, sustainability, cost, and aesthetics in your selection process.

4. Visualization: Create visual representations of design concepts using tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other rendering software. Present 2D drawings, 3D models, and renderings to clients for approval and feedback.

5. Project Management: Oversee the execution of design projects from concept to completion. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery within budget constraints.

6. Budgeting and Estimation: Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Monitor expenses, track project progress, and make adjustments as necessary to stay within budgetary limits.

7. Client Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with clients throughout the design process. Address client feedback, concerns, and requests promptly to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

8. Trend Research: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations. Apply your knowledge of current design trends and best practices to create innovative and marketable interior designs.


9. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all design solutions meet quality standards, building codes, regulations, and specifications. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify that design implementations adhere to the approved plan.

10. Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project. Foster a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to deliver integrated design solutions.


Your role will involve the following key responsibilities and tasks:

• Visiting job sites to analyze space availability, design needs and the purpose of the space

• Attending client meetings to understand the design needs and client preferences regarding interior styles and colors

• Creating initial design sketches, color themes and ideas based on client requirements and space availability

• Getting approval from the client before creating CAD designs and detailed briefs for workers and supervisors

• Hiring contractors and vendors to implement design ideas, such as Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers, Electricians and Artists

• Overseeing the buying process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project

• Arranging client visits and keeping everyone involved in the project appraised of its progress

• Ensuring project completion within the allocated budget and timeline

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERIOR DESIGNER:

Candidate must possess or currently pursuing at least a professional certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or equivalent.

Fresh graduate encouraged to apply

Required skill(s): AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, MS PowerPoint, Excel or other design relevant software

Required languages(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin will be advantage)

Good attitude and willing to learn.

Independent and responsible with excellent communication skills

Strong drafting skills and technical knowledge.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.

Ability to work well in a team and on your own.

Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
