Job description

An Interior Designer is responsible for producing high-quality project design deliverables in both FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, Equipment) as well as construction documents. A Designer can work on all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration. You will report directly to the Project Managers, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer on tasks and deliverables, working closely with them to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and meeting A&A’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Understand the preliminary client brief.
  2. Create and prepare layout plans, sketches, 3D and 2D drawings, models, and visuals.
  3. Prepare construction and technical details of design drawings.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams and operations to generate ideas for pitches and proposals.
  5. Present and propose concepts to clients based on their needs.
  6. Manage design and creative elements independently and within project teams.
  7. Ensure deliverables align with client expectations, budget, and timelines.
  8. Propose suitable construction materials, color schemes, and carpentry work.
  9. Coordinate with the costing department to prepare and issue specifications.
  10. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure work aligns with plans.
  11. Maintain quality standards and ensure tasks meet design standards.
  12. Handle all project documentation.
  13. Define project scope and work with the team accordingly.
  14. Resolve technical and detailing issues in line with design objectives.
  15. Manage project teams, deliverables, and finances where appropriate.
  16. Attend meetings, liaise with clients, and translate meeting outcomes into designs.
  17. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and monitor construction schedules.
  18. Participate in site supervisory visits to ensure compliance with specifications.
  19. Ensure timely project delivery.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Creative and artistic talent, good organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in design drafting and technical detailing.
  • Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Interior Design or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience; senior-level candidates preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good observation skills and attention to detail.
