A leading company in the interior design sector is seeking a motivated individual to support design projects in Kota Kinabalu. This role involves collaboration with senior designers, assisting in project management, and engaging with clients on design requirements. Ideal candidates should possess a diploma in interior design or related fields, along with strong creative skills and proficiency in design software.
Design support: Assist senior designers in developing and implementing design concepts, including creating preliminary sketches, 3D models, and renderings.
Project assistance: Support the coordination of interior design projects from conception to completion, managing project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.
Client interaction: Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and preferences, and assist senior designers with proposals and presentations.
Material and product research: Research and select materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), maintaining an up-to-date library of samples and materials.
Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and specifications, and assist in creating project documentation such as mood boards and presentation materials.
Site visit and coordination: Conduct site visits for measurements and condition assessments, and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
Budget and cost management: Assist in preparing budgets, estimating costs, and tracking expenses to stay within budget.
Compliance and standards: Ensure designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards like UBBL and fire protection. Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices.
Team collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, support colleagues, and foster a team environment.
Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, organizing files, maintaining records, and managing correspondence related to projects.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor's in interior design, architecture, or related field.
Experience: Preferably at least 1 year in a related role.
