As a Lecturer in the Diploma in Interior Design programme, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, inspiring students through innovative learning experiences, and contributing to the academic and professional development of the programme. You will engage with curriculum enhancement, student supervision, and academic support while promoting an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, studio-based sessions, and design critiques for core Interior Design subjects, including Interior Studies and Interior Design Projects. Demonstrate strong expertise in Project Management, Architectural Graphics, Environmental Science and Services, and Building Construction.
Proficient in using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Adobe Photoshop.
Supervise student projects and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
Contribute to the development and review of course materials and curriculum in line with MQA guidelines and industry trends.
Monitor and evaluate students’ progress through assessments, presentations, and practical work.
Provide academic counselling, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
Participate in faculty meetings, academic committees, and quality assurance exercises.
Stay current with developments in the field of interior design and incorporate industry-relevant knowledge into teaching.
Support outreach and promotional activities related to the programme and college events.
Contribute to the college's commitment to academic excellence and creative innovation.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field is required.
A Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Design-related disciplines is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of teaching and/or industry experience in interior design or a related creative field.
Experience in teaching studio-based modules and software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
Familiarity with MQA requirements, curriculum development, and assessment practices is an added advantage.
