Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is seeking a dynamic and creative instructional designer and developer. As part of the instructor-led training division of the Worldwide Education team, you will design, develop, and maintain product training and documentation for Motorola Solutions’ technologies and products.

Job Description

  • Perform needs analysis for a course of standard complexity and scope.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training assets that support partners, customers, and employees with their use of the MSI product suite, including, but not limited to, instructor guides, student workbooks, power points, and online modules.
  • Write concise, technical, and effective instructional content for a variety of deliverables, including lesson plans, guides, online content, and more.
  • Create and utilize multimedia elements, simulations, and assessments to enhance the effectiveness of learning materials.
  • Follow a scalable and repeatable process in the scoping, creation, and maintenance of content.
  • Manage and monitor training assets and courses in the LMS.
  • Manage a small portfolio of products.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Work closely with project managers to manage a small portfolio of products.
  • Work closely with team leads to ensure training content is focused on the right content, filling knowledge gaps, and appropriate.

Basic Requirements

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Adult education, Communications, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum Studies, teaching, training or anything in related field.
  • Must have minimum 1+ year of related experience in this field.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Good content organization and structuring skills
  • Some knowledge of ILT learning design and development models, adult learning principles, and delivery methods
  • Some knowledge of graphic editors such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
  • Strong background in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
  • Some understanding of delivery mechanism/best practices for classroom delivery
  • Aptitude to learn new technology and software quickly and be able to convey the meaning of complex concepts clearly to a broad audience
