About Our Client
Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking leader in the industrial engineering and energy sector, specializing in the development and execution of large-scale infrastructure and power generation projects across the region. With a long track record of delivering high-complexity, heavy industrial facilities, the firm is committed to world-class standards in project management, construction quality, and operational safety. This role offers a focused opportunity to manage the precise mechanical installation and commissioning of critical equipment within a major energy development.
Position
Installation Engineer (Energy Infrastructure Equipment)
Department
Project Mechanical & Erection
Job Purpose
The Installation Engineer will be the primary technical authority responsible for the on-site supervision, coordination, and quality control of all major mechanical and thermal equipment installation within the Energy Infrastructure Development project. This role requires ensuring that complex machinery—such as the boiler, turbine, and generator sets—is installed, aligned, and integrated precisely with existing civil foundations and project specifications, leading directly to successful commissioning and system handover.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Supervision: Direct coordination and supervision of major thermal and mechanical equipment installation, including the boiler, turbine, generator units, and cooling systems.
- Process Mastery: Detailed understanding of critical installation procedures, including complex lifting plans, precise alignment techniques, and pre-commissioning processes.
- Interface Management: Collaboration with the Civil Engineer to confirm equipment locations, verify embedded plates, check anchor bolt positioning, and ensure all pre-installation civil conditions are met to avoid structural conflicts.
- Stakeholder Liaison & Commissioning: Primary technical liaison with equipment suppliers, supervision consultants, and third-party experts during equipment receipt, erection, commissioning, performance testing, and final system handover.
- Technical Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison with equipment suppliers, supervision consultants, and third-party experts during the stages of equipment receipt, erection, commissioning, performance testing, and final system handover.
- Quality & Documentation: Prepare, manage, and maintain all technical installation documents, quality control records, progress reports, and certification dossiers required for mechanical completion and regulatory acceptance.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all installation activities strictly comply with heavy industrial safety requirements, quality standards, and commissioning procedures applicable to large-scale energy projects.
Requirements & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Thermal/Mechanical Installation, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Preferably with 2–3+ years of professional experience in the installation or construction of major mechanical equipment in power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Strong working familiarity with installation standards, QA/QC protocols, and safe working procedures in an industrial construction setting.
- Capable of understanding and managing complex interfaces between large mechanical equipment and civil works, including basic measurement and alignment skills.
- Fresh graduates are highly welcome, provided they are motivated to work diligently on-site and are willing to follow close guidance from supervision teams and consultants.
Core Competencies
- Technical Acumen: Foundational knowledge of heavy equipment lifting, piping and alignment procedures, and mechanical commissioning processes.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to coordinate between specialized equipment suppliers effectively and internal civil/electrical teams.
- Safety Focus: Dedication to maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout the erection and installation phase.
