Responsibilities:

  1. Perform inspections of plant equipment and piping during on-stream and shutdowns using various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as radiography, ultrasonic, and magnetic testing.
  2. Assess and review vendor and technical reports related to mechanical engineering design calculations in compliance with Codes and Standards.
  3. Investigate equipment failures, analyze issues, and provide recommendations for repairs and corrective actions.
  4. Supervise contract inspection technicians, contractors, and NDT teams during routine operations and Turnaround/Shutdown activities.
  5. Coordinate with the Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) for regular inspections and maintain the Certificate of Fitness (CoF) database.
  6. Develop, implement, and maintain equipment strategies for fixed equipment as per POIMS/RBI requirements.
  7. Lead QA/QC activities during Turnaround/Shutdown, including worklist development, inspection findings, and closure monitoring.
  8. Maintain and update inspection files, equipment strategies, and plant history records.
  9. Provide expertise in material selection, corrosion monitoring, welding procedures, and repair techniques.
  10. Stay updated on new technology and techniques in materials, corrosion, and non-destructive testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
  • Strong knowledge of Codes and Standards, materials selection, and NDT techniques.
  • Experience in equipment inspection, corrosion monitoring, and failure analysis.
  • Ability to supervise contractors and lead inspection activities during Turnaround/Shutdown.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
