The role:
As a Level 3 Infrastructure Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:

1. Designing, implementing, and managing virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Stack HCI), covering cluster configuration, VM lifecycle, host management, and storage integration.
2. Maintaining and supporting Windows and/or Linux systems, including patching, tuning, configuration, and executing upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning for compute platforms.
3. Overseeing data centre operations and enterprise infrastructure, including physical servers, racks, environmental checks, SAN/NAS storage, and backup/DR systems to ensure availability and business continuity.
4. Monitoring and troubleshooting performance and availability issues across virtual and physical environments, ensuring compliance with security baselines and operational standards.
5. Collaborating cross-functionally with network, security, and application teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in on-call rotations for critical incident response.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

1. 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience with deep expertise in virtualization and platform administration across VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, including clustered deployments and VM lifecycle management.
2. Strong proficiency in Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022), with additional experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) for cross-platform support.
3. Skilled in scripting and automation, preferably using PowerShell, to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
4. Solid understanding of enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and virtualization networking concepts (VLANs, vSwitches, distributed switches).
5. Experienced in infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting, using tools like vROps, SolarWinds, with strong analytical skills for managing production environments.
