Job summary

PPG Industries invites an IC Intern to join the Technical Department in Malaysia for hands-on lab work and development of industrial coating products. You will apply chemical and engineering principles to improve coatings, processes, and product performance under the IC CD Team Leader's guidance.

The internship focuses on practical formulation, testing, data recording, and reporting, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and documentation across R&D, production, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Available for an internship period of six (6) months or longer.
• Basic understanding of chemistry principles and laboratory practices.
• Works effectively within a team environment.
• Good color vision with the ability to distinguish subtle color differences.

Responsibilities

• Support the formulation and testing of industrial coating products under guidance.
• Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate physical and chemical properties of coatings.
• Support lab work activities by performing sample analysis and data recording.
• Help in troubleshooting technical issues related to coating application and performance.
• Participate in process optimization projects to enhance product efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, test results, and observations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and quality assurance.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
