Problem Statement
The position is responsible for strategically sourcing Boston Scientific’s indirect spend across various categories at Penang site, Malaysia. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and implement sourcing strategies and ongoing management of critical activities to reduce costs without compromising quality and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. The individual will be responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiations, and management of suppliers. In addition, this position is responsible for leveraging relationships between BSC sites and cross-functional teams to simplify and standardize processes for end-to-end sourcing.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic influence with senior leadership in the market to lead the function to world-class standards and review opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Align operating framework comprising policies, tools, and processes consistent with regional strategy and site priorities.
- Develop an annual plan for sites to set goals and objectives, analyze spending, and review plans with key stakeholders for alignment.
- Develop and lead teams to support growth in markets and align them with category structures, enhancing collaboration with Global Category Managers.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and relevant regulations. Ensure all employees are trained and their training is documented.
- Follow best practices in vendor management for supply assurance and risk minimization.
- Lead cross-functional teams in collecting and defining requirements to communicate to vendors.
- Lead RFI processes with vendors and articulate solutions integrating company requirements and market data.
- Construct RFPs to communicate requirements to vendors.
- Lead vendor evaluation teams in assessing RFP responses, conducting pre-bid meetings, and selecting final vendors.
- Finalize contracts with vendors and track cost savings and avoidance. Deliver end-to-end value by leveraging P2P processes and upgrading related content such as Contracts, CBI, Catalogs, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's in Business Management is preferable.
- Over 10 years of experience in indirect sourcing.
- Experience leading categories such as Facilities, Logistics, & MRO independently. Experience in a multinational company (MNC) environment is preferable.
- At least 5 years in a managerial role within an MNC.
- Skills: Stakeholder Management, People Leadership, Category Planning, Process Re-engineering, Vendor Negotiations, Supplier Management, and Change Management.
