Job summary

A leading electronics manufacturing company based in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead a team of inspectors. This role involves overseeing in-process inspections, managing quality objectives, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering or related fields and have at least 3 years of experience in quality control. Knowledge of ISO and GMP standards is also required for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Job Overview

Leading a team of inspectors to ensure in-process quality standards are met. Perform regular line audits to ensure compliance. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve departmental KPIs.

Responsibilities
  • In-Process Inspection & Monitoring: Oversee and perform in-process inspections of flex circuits manufacturing to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to meet quality objectives.
  • KPI Management: Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators related to process quality, defect rates, and inspection efficiency.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Lead investigations into quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-compliances detected.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize processes, reduce defects, and improve product quality.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate inspection records, process documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Communication: Articulate quality issues clearly to cross-functional teams and drive teams toward achieving quality goals and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Engineering, Science or related field.
  • 3 years experience in electronics or manufacturing quality control is preferred.
  • Knowledge of in-process inspection methods and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Skilled in identifying defects, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
