Job Summary

We are currently looking for a IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) Maintenance Trainee who will be supporting the WSM IHM team. The role involves coordinate and manages IHM Maintenance documentation, ensure timely verification and distribution to owners, vessels, and classification societies. Identify trends, suggest process improvements, and support submission of updates to clients and class authorities.

Position: IHM Maintenance Trainee

Location: Menara 1 Sentral - Kuala Lumpur

Report to: IHM Project Coordinator / Manager

What You'll Responsible For:

  • Coordinate IHM Maintenance documentation (SDOC / MD Class Forms)

  • Collate and distribute IHM Maintenance verification and updates to Owners / Vessels / Masters & Classification Societies.

  • Carry out IHM Maintenance projects as assigned by IHM Project Coordinator/Manager.

  • Provides feedback for process improvement in relation to IHM Maintenance activities within WSM.

  • Able to identify trends and recommends proactive solutions to manage IHM Maintenance business situations.

  • Matters related to the preparation and execution of IHM Maintenance.

  • Liaison with owners’ representative / class society representative / vendors during IHM Maintenance reviews.

  • Liaison with Experts to collate and upload MD/SDOC in IHM Library.

  • Review & identify changes for VSCP’s / SDOC / MD Class Forms for submission to Class / Client.

  • Collate IHM Maintenance verification documentation according to MEPC 269(68) guidelines (EU SRR)

  • Collation of Project’s vessel documentation.

What Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply!

  • Knowledge of ship management / ship operations.

  • Experience of technical or operational work experience in the maritime industry.

  • International experience and knowledge of the maritime industry

  • Supplementary education in vessel inspections / audits is advantageous.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle high volume workload.

  • Strong environmental commitment.
