Overview
To deliver the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics curriculum to upper secondary students (Years 9-10–11), fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical confidence.
The teacher will prepare students for IGCSE Mathematics examinations (Core and Extended) and ensure readiness for post-IGCSE pathways such as A-Level or equivalent programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, student-centered lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics syllabus.
- Ensure coverage of all key content areas, including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverseness abilities of learners, including support and extension tasks.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments in accordance with IGCSE standards.
- Use data to track student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide targeted interventions.
- Prepare students effectively for IGCSE Mathematics exams, including exam techniques, time management, and past paper practice.
- Support both Core and Extended level students depending on ability groups.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related discipline.
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent teaching license).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry upper secondary level, preferably within the IB or IGCSE framework.
- In-depth understanding of the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics curriculum and assessment objectives.
- Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to teach in a multicultural, inclusive, and student-centered environment.
- Passionate about mathematics education and student achievement.
- Experience in teaching Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and EdTech tools.
