Job summary

FWD TIM Malaysia is seeking an IFRS17-focused actuarial professional to support the Head of TIM IFRS17 in Kuala Lumpur. The role drives IFRS17 results generation for multiple business units, ensures data integrity, and coordinates with Group Actuarial and BU teams to deliver timely analyses.

The ideal candidate holds 5–6 years of actuarial experience and a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or a related field, with fellowship status strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years insurance experience in actuarial functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics/Statistics.
• Nearly fellowship member of an internationally recognised actuarial professional body.

Responsibilities

• Assist the IFRS17 Country Lead by providing technical and other general support or coaching to the team to ensure work quality is achieved accordingly.
• Manage IFRS17 results generation process for corresponding BU, and ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Review the generated IFRS17 results and ensure all validation passed or with reasonable justifications.
• Raise data issues and findings to BU Actuarial and/or finance, collaborating with BU local data representatives on resolving data issues, propose workaround solutions.
• Coordinate incoming requests from Group Actuarial, BU, and downstream teams such as Alteryx, Oracle and Group Finance.
• Manage updates, communication and project expectations with Group Actuarial and BU throughout the production cycle or ad-hoc runs to ensure successful delivery of IFRS17 results.
• Exercising judgement using IFRS17 knowledge to perform checks, interpret results, define impacts and communicate mitigation actions.
• Analyze issues and findings with practical recommendations to close gaps or risks; escalate to the IFRS17 Country Lead promptly.
• Perform compliance checks and ensure alignment with Group Governance policy including model documentation, modelling processes and controls.
• Analyze and explain results to business units.
• Improve operation manuals based on production learnings and discuss process/tool enhancements with the IFRS17 Country Lead.
• Manage ad-hoc run requests from Group Actuarial or BUs during result production.
• Manage data preparation and other processes surrounding IFRS17 results generation as requested by the BUs.
• Manage end-to-end actuarial projects/initiatives from Group Actuarial and BUs.
