Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in Database Administration/Operations/Support.
• Strong MySQL experience.
• Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with backup/recovery, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Cloud platforms familiarity preferred.
• Chinese and English communication skills.
• Willingness for 24/7 on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily db support and operations for overseas game production databases on cloud platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, backup and recover production environments.
• Provide first-level db incident support and coordinate with tech teams to resolve issues.
• Support schema changes, data changes, deployments and db operations in production.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity, and health of databases.
• Perform basic Linux administration related to db environments.
• Collaborate with China-based teams on incidents and operational matters.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and processes.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call or shift support when required.

Business Unit Introduction - Interactive Entertainment Group (IEG)

Responsible for the R&D, operation, and development of the company’s interactive entertainment business including games and eSports. Through online gaming, live broadcasts, and offline eSports, IEG assists the company in leading the global interactive entertainment market to create better interactive entertainment content experiences for users.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support and operational services for overseas game production databases running on cloud platforms.
• Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup and recovery for production environments.
• Provide first-level support for database-related incidents and coordinate with Database Technology and DevOps teams to resolve issues.
• Support database schema changes, data changes, deployment and other database operations in production environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity and overall health.
• Perform basic Linux system administration and troubleshooting related to database environments.
• Work closely with China-based technical teams on database incidents, technical issues and daily operational matters.
• Document troubleshooting procedures, operational processes and database-related issues.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call or shift support when required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, CIS or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration, Database Operations or Database Support.
• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL is required.
• Experience with Redis, MongoDB or other databases is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in Linux system administration and troubleshooting is required.
• Experience with database backup/recovery, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS, Tencent Cloud or other cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience supporting databases in production / 24x7 environments is an advantage.
• Good Chinese communication skills are required for daily communication and technical discussions with China-based teams.
• Good English communication skills for working with overseas teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, sense of responsibility and teamwork.
• Able to learn new database technologies and cloud platforms quickly.
