Job summary

WD Media (Malaysia) Sdn, Bayan Lepas, Penang is seeking a Laboratory Technician to independently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ICPMS systems, ensuring accurate results and compliance with quality standards. The role supports day-to-day lab operations and cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will handle ICPMS testing, calibration, data interpretation, and reporting while working in a cleanroom and rotating 12-hour shifts. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in any Engineering or science discipline.
• Familiar with Microsoft Windows, Office applications
• Required to work in 12 hours shift pattern with day or night cycles
• Willing to work in cleanroom environment
• Able to communicate in basic English
• Possess good analytical skills
• Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Scope and Define tasks: Execute ICPMS testing activities and meet delivery deadlines.
• Tool Operation: Operate ICPMS sample preparation, calibration and analysis.
• Tool maintenance: manage spare parts inventory, perform PM, troubleshoot equipment.
• Data Interpretation and Reporting: analyze raw data and generate detailed reports for engineering teams.
• Cross functional Collaboration: work with engineers and upstream/downstream colleagues to ensure smooth operation.
• Provide continuous support to production in chemical laboratory and optimize workflow efficiency.

Job Description

Responsible for independently operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting ICPMS systems to ensure accurate analytical results, reliable equipment performance, and compliance with laboratory quality standards. Acts as the technical resource for day-to-day laboratory operations and supports issue resolution through established procedures.

Regular Responsibilities

Scope and Define tasks: Execute assigned ICPMS testing activities and follow the priority arrangement to meet the delivery dateline, ensure compliance with procedures, and escalte abnormal conditions when required.

Tool Operation: Operate ICPMS sample preparation, calibration and analysis.

Tool maintenance: managing spare parts inventory, perform PM within schedule, troubleshooting the equipment.

Data Interpretation and Reporting: Analyze from raw data and generate detailed reports for engineering teams.

Cross functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and upstream/downstream colleagues and ensure smooth operation without miscommunication.
