Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our project delivery team supporting Advanced Facilities projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will contribute to structural analysis, design, and project delivery, collaborating with leads, engineers, designers, and other disciplines to develop practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities include preparing calculations, applying seismic design provisions, and ensuring quality while meeting schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization or experience in Structural Engineering.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and design fundamentals.
• Experience working with building structures and structural engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of U.S. building codes and seismic design provisions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, workload, and project commitments effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering analysis and design for a variety of projects.
• Support the development of structural design concepts and detailed engineering solutions.
• Apply engineering principles, procedures, and design criteria to project work.
• Develop and apply knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals, including seismic design requirements and building code provisions.
• Coordinate effectively with internal project teams across multiple disciplines.
• Prepare, review, and check engineering calculations and technical deliverables.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and quality control standards.
• Manage assigned scope of work while meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
• Identify risks, scope changes, and technical issues, escalating when appropriate.
• Demonstrate initiative in solving engineering challenges and seeking guidance when needed.
