Job summary

Marsh in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Application Developer to join the Technology team. The role supports development and delivery for Japan, collaborating with analysts and vendors to translate requirements into solutions. The position is hybrid, requiring at least three days in the office weekly.

You will work on Express.js, Angular, Node.js and React, with over 3 years of application development experience, and you must speak Japanese. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience fulfilling the role of an Application Developer within the insurance industry.
• Demonstrable experience across a range of projects, both technology and non-technology.
• Strong technical skills in Express.js, Angular, Node.js and React.
• Over 3 years of experience in application development.
• Ability to interpret process models, requirements, and business scenarios leading to development of the solution.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
• Experience with Agentic AI: understanding of autonomous AI agents to automate workflows and data analysis.
• Ability to speak Japanese is a MUST.

Responsibilities

• Codes, tests and debugs software programs and meets project plan goals under limited guidance from senior software developers.
• Designs and develops small technical modules independently.
• Repairs coding problems as needed.
• Provides technical support to clients and handles escalated issues.
• Monitors support trends and informs senior team members on system performance.
• Acts as a technical resource for analysts and stakeholders.
• Collaborates to develop project plans and software release scope.
• Supports testing and validation of product features.
• Develops technical documentation.
• Partner with Business/IT to define and manage release scope.
